Background

Luke Albert Combs, born on March 2, 1990, in North Carolina, the only child of Rhonda and Chester Combs, has been a performing vocalist since he was a child. He moved to Asheville with his family when he was eight, and while in school, he was a part of multiple vocal groups, nourishing his love for country music. At the university, he played his first show at the Parthenon Cafe. With less than a year to graduate, he dropped out of university to pursue his music career. In 2014, he released his first two extended plays, “The Way She Rides” and “Can I Get An Outlaw.” His first single, ‘Hurricane, ‘ gained momentum and debuted at number 46 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. His third E.P., “This One’s For You,” was declared in 2017. It did not take long for him to get on the radar of music lovers. With his classic blend of contemporary and country music, he appeals to all kinds of audiences.

Afterward, he signed a record deal with Sony Music Nashville, and his hit single, ‘Hurricane,’ was re-released. This time, it reached number one on the country music airplay chart and held the position for two weeks. Combs released his debut album in June 2017, “This One’s For You.” In its first week, it reached number one on Billboard’s Top Country Albums and number five on the U.S. Billboard 200. On January 8, 2018, he released the album’s deluxe edition, which included five new tracks. Two of the five, ‘She Got the Best of Me’ and ‘Beautiful Crazy,’ reached number one on the Billboard Hot Charts. He released his second album, “What You See Is What You Get,” on November 8, 2019. The album boasts four hit singles that reached number one on the U.S. Country charts, ‘Even Though I’m Leaving,’ ‘Does To Me,’ ‘Beer Never Broke My Heart,’ and ‘Lovin’ On Me.’ On October 23, 2020, Combs released the deluxe version of his second album titled, “What You See Ain’t Always What You Get.” A track from the album, ‘Forever After All’ set streaming records on Spotify and Apple Music.

Combs announced he was dating Nicole Hocking in 2016, and the two tied the knot in Florida on August 1, 2020. Combs and Hocking are expecting their first child in the spring of 2022. Combs has been struggling with anxiety and primarily cognitive obsessive-compulsive disorder, but it is something he has learned to control better with the support of his family.
