American actor Karan Brar was born on January 18, 1999, to Indian-American parents Harinder and Jasbinder Brar. He was raised in Bothell, Washington, and has one older sister, Sabreena. Brar studied acting at John Robert Powers and Patti Kalle’s workshops while attending Cedar Wood Elementary School.
At 11, Brar made his acting debut in the comedy feature film “Diary of a Wimpy Kid.” In March 2011, he reprised his role as Chirag Gupta in the feature film sequel “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules.” In October 2011, it was announced that he would again play the role of Chirag in the Wimpy Kid franchise’s third sequel, “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days,” which was to be released in 2012.
