Background

Nicolas Cage is one of America’s greatest actors. Cage’s dedication and commitment to his acting career earned him multiple awards and recognition on the global stage. He is the kind of actor who is not afraid to do anything. On January 7, 1964, Cage was born in California and named Nicolas Kim Coppola. He later changed his name to Nicolas Cage because of his liking for the Marvel superhero name, Luke Cage. He is the son of Augustus Coppola and Joy Vogelsang. Cage schooled at Beverly Hill High and furthered his education at U.C.L.A. School of Theater Arts, Film, and Television. He developed a passion for acting because he aspired to be like James Dean.

Cage is an astounding actor who has been nominated for, and received, many awards such as an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, an MTV Movie Award, a National Board of Review Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. He began his career in film and movies in 1981 by acting in “The Best of Times” television pilot, which never made the film series to date. In 1982, he featured in a minor role in the comedy-drama film “Fast Times at Ridgemont High School.” Cage took a lead role in 1983 in “Valley Girl,” a teen romantic comedy film. In 1996, he won a Golden Globe Award, “Best Actor in a Motion Picture-Drama,” for his role in “Leaving Las Vegas.” In 2018 he did voice-overs for animations such as “Teen Titans Go! To The Movies” and “Spider-man: Into The Spider-Verse.” Also, in 2018, he starred in a horror film, “Mandy.” Cage has also featured in American Science fiction movies such as “Color Out of Space” in 2019. He has starred in at least 123 films to date.

Cage’s life and career have been filled with ups and downs. He had turbulent financial problems due to his extravagant spending. The I.R.S. was on his neck for the $6.7 million federal income tax that he owed in 2007. He has two islands, a shark, a few properties in America, 22 cars, and 47 artworks and exotic items, amongst other expensive things. In 2009, he was one of the top paid actors in America as he earned $40 million that year but failed to be mentioned on “Forbes” list. He faced lawsuits with East West Bank and Red Curbs Investments because of unpaid money he borrowed from them. Cage has had four failed marriages in which his shortest was four days with Erica Koike. He was also married to the daughter of Elvis Presley, Lisa Marie Presley, on August 10, 2002, but they filed for divorce 107 days after. He is currently doing well for himself, and his fifth marriage to Riko Shibata is going strong. He is expecting his third child with her.
