Background

Ice Poseidon is one of the best-established streamers, being one of the earliest ones. He’s had his ups and downs, but no one can deny that he’s made his mark on the internet landscape. Ice Poseidon was born Paul Denino on September 29, 1994, in Palm Beach, Florida. His zodiac sign is Libra and his ethnicity is Caucasian. He is the son of Michael and Enza Denino. Ice Poseidon grew up in a gated community in Martin County, Florida, a rural area near Palm Beach. When he was 12 years old, a neighbor introduced him to “RuneScape,” a fantasy multiplayer online role-playing game that was developed by Jagex. After consulting a random-name generator, he chose the name Ice Poseidon for his character and has used it for his online presence ever since. He initially gained fame from his “RuneScape” live streams. In the beginning, he also had a gimmick where he streamed with a broken earplug, that would only play the music in the left ear. He then became known for pranking players, staking gold, and playing Trihard song requests as well for his fans.

When streaming became a popular way for a person to share with their fans how they play a game, he moved on to vlogging himself on dates, playing pranks, and holding self-defense courses. He attended the popular YouTuber convention Vidcon in 2017, where he met some of his heroes, such as Philip DeFranco. A lot of his videos involved his fans, who he dubbed the “Purple Army,” fighting them at the UFCx event and reacting to clips they sent. Some of the videos featured robotics. He used to stream on Twitch but was later banned after some controversies. He then turned to YouTube and, for a short while, Twitch’s competitor Mixer to continue streaming. There, he held his five-day-long game show, “Scuffed Brother,” (a parody of CBS’s reality show “Big Brother”), garnering 500,000,000 sparks from viewer voting and 350,000 views in total. He was one of the biggest creators on Mixer, and as of June 12, 2020, had 39,995 followers and 2,225,145 views in total. He gained over 80 million views and over 700,000 subscribers on YouTube, over 180,000 followers on Twitter, almost 70,000 followers on TikTok, and almost 50,000 followers on Instagram.
