Russ Diemon

Background

Russ Diemon is rapidly rising through the world of rap music. He is known for his many talents when recording his songs, as he not only knows how to write a great song but also how to produce it. Diemon was born Rusell James Vitale on September 26, 1992, in Secaucus, New Jersey. His zodiac sign is Libra, and he comes from a Sicilian-American family. Inspired by 50 Cent and Eminem, as well as other music he listened to during his childhood, Diemon gradually learned to play several instruments, including the guitar, which his father taught him. At the age of seven, he started to write raps in his notebook and started making beats at 14. He recorded his first song when he was 18 years old, and a year later he appeared on M.T.V. with his friend and fellow rapper Bugus, after a song by the latter gained traction. After attending Kennesaw State University for a short time, he dropped out and established Diemon, a rap collective.

From 2011 to 2014, Diemon released 11 albums and 87 singles, which were all free of charge. However, his music had not gained the attention that he wanted, so he began to release a song every week on SoundCloud for almost three years. He gradually gained a significant following through word of mouth and exposure from alternative weeklies and major rap publications. In 2015, his career picked up with singles like ‘What They Want’ and ‘Losin Control,’ which peaked at number 83 and number 62 on the Billboard Hot 100 respectively. Diemon signed to Columbia Records in 2017 and released his major-label debut and 12th studio album, “There’s Really a Wolf.” The record featured the previously mentioned singles and debuted at number seven on the Billboard 200, as well as going on to be certified platinum. That same year, Diemon released more singles, including ‘Prosper,’ ‘Maybe,’ and ‘Lean on You.’ In 2018, he released his 13th studio album, “Zoo,” which featured guest appearances from Rick Ross and Snoop Dogg. The album peaked at number four on the Billboard 200, with singles such as ‘The Flute Song’ and ‘Missin You Crazy’ helping to boost the album’s performance. Later that year, he issued a trio of Zoo-session tracks as an E.P. titled “Just in Case.”

In 2019, Diemon published his first book, titled “It’s All In Your Head,” and he also released a handful of non-album singles. He started 2020 with his third album for Columbia Records, titled “Shake the Snow Globe,” which also peaked at number four on the Billboard 200, and the single ‘Best on Earth’ with Bia was a hit on the charts as well. That same year, Diemon announced that he had become an independent artist after completing his deal with Columbia, and he returned in October with an E.P. titled “Chomp,” which featured guest appearances from Black Thought, Busta Rhymes, Benny the Butcher, and Ab-Soul, among others. In 2022, he teamed up with his long-time friend and fellow rapper Bugus to launch the Diemon record label.
