Timothée Hal Chalamet is a French-American actor born in New York City on December 27, 1995, to Nicole Flender, a real estate broker and dancer, and Marc Chalamet, a UNICEF editor. His mother, who is from New York, is Jewish, and descended from Russian and Austrian Jews. His father is of French and English ancestry and originates from Nîmes, France. He is the nephew of filmmaker Rodman Flender and the grandson of playwright Harold Flender. He is the brother of actress Pauline Chalamet. He was raised in an artistic household, starring in commercials and the New York theatre scene while attending LaGuardia High School of Music, Art, and Performing Arts. Timothée also attended Columbia University for a while.

He has appeared on stage in Anna Kerrigan’s drama “The Talls” and John Patrick Shanley’s autobiographical “Prodigal Son.” He has had a starring role in “Law & Order” (1990), a supporting role in the film “Loving Leah” (2009), and more substantial appearances in the shows “Royal Pains” (2009) and “Homeland” (2011), among other things.
