Jordin Sparks-Thomas, A.K.A. Jordin Sparks, is an American singer and actress whose talents and beauty have earned her fame and success beyond measure. Sparks was born in Phoenix, Arizona, on December 22, 1989. Jodi Jackson and Phillippi Sparks are her parents. Sparks is of African-American, German, English, Scottish, and Norwegian descent. She grew up in suburban Ridgewood, New Jersey, and later attended Sandra Day O’Connor High School. Sparks was talented as a teenager and won several talent competitions like Coca-Cola’s “Rising Star,” “America’s Most Talented Kids,” etc.

In 2006, Sparks auditioned for “American Idol” season six and earned a golden ticket to appear in the Hollywood round. As a contestant on the show, Sparks gained a loyal fanbase. In May 2007, at 17 years, Sparks won “American Idol” season six, emerging as the show’s youngest winner to date. She signed with 19 Recordings/Jive Records soon after. The singer released her debut single, ‘Tattoo’ in August 2007. It peaked at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and has sold over two million copies in the U.S. In November of that year, Sparks’ self-titled debut studio album was released. The album spawned ‘No Air’ with Chris Brown, which sold over three million copies in the U.S. and is platinum-certified in Australia and New Zealand. Her debut album earned her several awards, and in January 2009, she released her sophomore album, “Battlefield.” In 2010, she went on her debut headlining tour, the Battlefield Tour, in the United States. In 2011, Sparks was on the cover of “People” magazine’s ‘Most Amazing Bodies’ issue. In 2012, she starred in “Sparkle,” which was her feature film debut, and has made several film appearances since then. After a conflict with the record label, which resulted in Sparks joining another label, she released her third studio album, “Right Here Right Now,” in 2015.

Sparks is a talented singer and actress. She has four studio albums and several E.P.s to her name. Her most recent album, “Cider & Hennessy,” was released in 2020. For someone with enviable talent and success, Sparks has kept her relationship private. She dated singer Jason Derulo from 2011 to 2014, and in July 2017, she married Dana Isaiah Thomas. Sparks and Thomas welcomed their son in May 2018. She shares her success with her friends and family.
