Moon Byul-yi, better known as Moonbyul, was born on December 22, 1992, in Bucheon, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, and is the oldest of three sisters. Moonbyul got accepted into an art institute in 2011 and became a member of the South Korean girl group MAMAMOO in 2014. She subsequently became the main performer of the group and also got signed to RBW. She then made her debut as a solo artist in 2018 with her single ‘Selfish,’ which also featured vocals from the artist Seulgi who is part of the music group, Red Velvet. Today, Moonbyul is known in Korea and worldwide as a prolific rapper, singer, songwriter, dancer, and radio host.

Moonbuyl released her debut E.P. in February 2020. The album is titled “Dark Side of the Moon” and has earned her worldwide recognition as a talented female rapper. She released her second E.P., titled “6equence,” in January of 2022 and teased its release with the pre-release single ‘G999.’ In December 2021, this song featuring Mirani was released. Later in the same month, she released ‘Shutdown,’ another pre-release song. The single album “C.I.T.T. (Cheese in the Trap)” by Moonbyul was released in April 2022. These include ‘Dab Dab’ with Hwasa for the album “Memory,” ‘Promise U’ with Solar for the album “REVIBE Vol.1,” and ‘Bada Boom’ with Solar, Mismolly, and Turns for the album “Street Dance Girls Fighter (S.G.F.) Special.” Moonbyul is an incredible rapper with a lot of talent, and her career continues to grow as the years go by.
