Earlan Bartley, otherwise known as Alkaline, was born on December 19, 1993. He is a Jamaican dancehall reggae artist. He’s known for hits like ‘Fleek,’ ‘Things Take Time,’ ‘Champion Boy,’ ‘ATM,’ and ‘Ride On Me (Remix ).’ “New Level Unlocked,” his first studio album, was released by D.J. Frass Records in 2016. It was the first dancehall album to reach the top spot on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart in five years. On Billboard’s 2016 list of the top reggae albums, it reached number three. Earlan Bartley was born on December 19, 1993, at the Victoria Jubilee Hospital located in Kingston. He attended Ardenne High School and then went to the University of the West Indies to study media and communication. He first developed a passion for music while he was a senior in high school. He then started working with Notnice Records and UIM Records and rose to fame in Jamaica with a string of singles including ‘123,’ ‘High Suh,’ ‘Bruk Out,’ ‘Things Mi Love,’ and ‘Live Life.’ However, his most well-known single was ‘Move Mountains.’

While steadily working on his first album “New Level Unlocked,” Bartley pushed himself into the international market in the middle of 2015 with his hit singles ‘On Fleek (Love Yuh Everything)’ and ‘Ride on Me (Remix)’ which featured Sean Kingston. He became the first dancehall D.J. to have a number-one album on the charts in five years when the album “New Level Unlocked” came out on March 25, 2016. It went on to top the Billboard Reggae Charts and remained at the top for 18 weeks.

In 2016 he got his second nomination for a MOBO Award, also for Best Reggae Act. The ‘iFruit Radio’ soundtrack from Grand Theft Auto V included his 2019 single ‘With the Thing’ in early December. Bartley debuted his second studio album, “Top Prize,” on February 12, 2021. At the Miramar Regional Amphitheater in Miami, Florida, on March 27, 2022, he performed as the headlining act at the third New Rules Festival, which also included performances by Mavado, Kranium, and Wayne Wonder. In Paris, France on June 22, 2022, fashion designer Matthew M. Williams’ Givenchy Men’s Spring Summer 2023 RTW Show featured his music.
