Ayaka Iida

Background

Ayaka Iida, or Ayaka, is a Japanese musician, record producer, and songwriter. She first came to prominence as a young musician and has maintained a rare humility throughout her career. lida has released six albums, all of which have been recognized as astounding works in their own right. She has often remained far from the limelight and kept a reserved life.

lida was born on December 18, 1987, in Osaka, Japan, where she grew up. She began participating in music around 2003, in a series of live performances organized in her hometown. A year later, she entered a music school where she learned the basics of music and songwriting, and honed her skills. She produced several demos during her time at the school, which later led to her signing a deal with Warner Music Japan.

lida released her first single in 2006, titled ‘I Believe.’ The song was used as the theme for a Japanese T.V. series at the time and quickly became a sensation. During the same year, she featured on several other singles, all of which were successful, and eventually brought out her debut album, “First Message.” She kept the same consistency for years, producing a total of six albums, alongside several singles. In 2009, lida married Hiro Mizushima, a Japanese actor. In 2021, she went on to celebrate her 15th year in the music industry, making several singles, announcing a nationwide tour, and bringing out a new album. Iida is a successful artist today and enjoys a solid fan base.
