Offset

Background

Offset was born in Lawrenceville, Georgia, in the U.S. He started his career in music when he formed the Migos trio together with his cousin, Quavo, and rapper Takeoff, in 2008.

Migos gained initial recognition with the release of their first single titled ‘Versace.’ In 2015, the group released their debut studio album, “Yung Rich Nation,” and in 2017, their single ‘Bad and Boujee’ became an online phenomenon. This single inspired many internet memes with the caption “rain drop, drop top,” lyrics performed by Offset in the song. The song was number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, and many critics believed that Offset dominated the song and contributed the most to its success with fans. In 2017, Migos released their second studio album, “Culture,” which debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 200 chart. Apart from being one of the members of Migos, Offset has also released solo music and collaborated with numerous artists. He collaborated with Drake on a single titled ‘No Complaints’ in 2017, and he did a song with Macklemore for the album “Gemini” in the same year. Also in 2017, Offset recorded what would become his first platinum single on his collaborative studio album with rapper 21 Savage titled “Without Warning.” In 2019, Offset released his first solo album, “Father of 4.”

Although Offset has been involved in several controversies and only released one single album to date, he is still one of the most influential rappers of our time.
