Maisy Stella

Background

Born on December 13, 2003, Maisy Stella is the second child of a Canadian folk duo called The Stellas. Both Stella and her sister Lennon grew up without access to modern communication technology. Producer R.J. Cutler recalled and told “The Hollywood Reporter” that he and his crew were fascinated by Stella’s audition for “Nashville,” and that at the audition, she told him she had a sister and they used to sing together. So Cutler invited Lennon to audition as well.

Both Stella and her sister were cast in the series “Nashville” even before they became famous. Reason: they posted on YouTube the cover version of the song ‘Call Your Girlfriend’ by singer Robyn. Their harmonizing skills immediately went viral with the video getting over 20 million views. The two have appeared several times on “Good Morning America,” performed on “The View,” and have recorded hit singles on the soundtracks of “Nashville,” which have sold two million copies. In December 2012, they released their Christmas song titled “Christmas Coming Home.” In 2017, she released her first solo song ‘Riding Free,’ the soundtrack of the animation series “Spirit Riding Free” of Dreamworks.

Stella likes to study and her favorite subjects are math and social studies. Like her sister, she loves the outdoors, singing, making home movies with friends and family, and anything that involves music. The young woman is not only a talented singer but also an amazing instrumentalist. Stella plays the ukulele, guitar, and piano. Her favorite song to play on any instrument is ‘Ho Hey’ sung by the famous folk band The Lumineers.
