Moneybagg Yo

Background

DeMario DeWayne White Jr., otherwise known as Moneybagg Yo, is a rapper and songwriter to be reckoned with. He was born on September 22, 1991, in South Memphis, Tennessee, and was raised in the Walker Homes neighborhood until adulthood. He started releasing his mixtapes in 2012, which included “From Da Block 2 Da Booth” and “October 20th,” and released three more in 2016. He won the Memphis HipHop Award for ‘Mixtape of the Year’ for one of them. This was a turning point in his career.

His revision of the first installment of the “Federal Series”, titled “Federal Reloaded,” featured artists like Young Dolph and Y Grizzle. He followed it up with “Everybody Lives On,” which featured Quavo and Yo Gotti. He continued working with Yo Gotti in “2 Federal,” which he released in 2016. In 2018, he released a compilation album, “Moneybagg Yo Presents: NLess Ent x Bread Gang,” “2 Heartless,” “Bet On Me” — a nine-track mixtape — and he also debuted his studio album, “Reset”, at the end of that year.

He released his second album, “43va Heartless,” in 2019, and his third, “Time Served,” in 2020. His first singles, ‘All Dat’ and ‘U Played,’ featured on the Hot 100 charts. June of the same year marked the peak in his career, with the release of “Said Sumn,” which reached the top of the chart. One year later, he released his fourth album, “A Gangsta’s Pain.”
