He attended Vidalia High School and after graduation, he decided to opt for a job instead of a college degree. On the side, Clay dabbled in stand-up comedy and was encouraged to post his videos online.

In June 2013, Clay launched his YouTube career with a channel. His channel was originally called WhatChaMaCalling before it was renamed CashNasty.
