Background

Thomas Gallagher and Peggy Gallagher, an Irish couple, gave birth to William John Paul Gallagher on September 21, 1972. When he was 10, his mother moved out of the house with her sons because his father was aggressive. His troubled childhood is littered with tales of terrible behavior. The singer was notorious for causing trouble, being suspended from school, and stealing bicycles from neighborhood shops. He developed an ear for music in his late teens and improved his singing skills by listening to The Beatles, The Who, The Stone Roses, The Jam, and other artists. In the band The Rain, he began singing alongside McGuigan, a school friend. “Definitely Maybe,” their debut album, quickly became a hit, and the band was compared to The Beatles in no time. In 1997, he collaborated with the band on “Be Here Now,” which became the fastest-selling album in British chart history. The band’s success as a respected band grew in the following years, and their final album, “Dig Out Your Soul,” reached number one on the U.K. charts and sixth on the U.S. Billboard charts in 2008.

When Noel Gallagher walked out of the band in 2009, claiming his brother was someone tough to work with, the band split. The remaining members formed the band Beady Eye. Gallagher started working on a feature film on The Beatles, through his production business, In 1 Production, in 2010, after the release of Beady Eye’s first single, ‘Bring the Light.’ In the same year, he established his clothing line, ‘Pretty Green.’ The band’s debut album, “Different Gear, Still Speeding,” was released in 2011. Gallagher expressed his reluctance to have a solo career in a tweet on January 4, 2016. After starting to record his debut solo album in 2016, the title “As You Were” was unveiled in March 2017. On May 31, he released his solo debut single, ‘Wall of Glass,’ along with a music video.

Gallagher gave his debut solo concert at the Ritz in Manchester in the same month, with all revenues going to victims of the Manchester terror attack. He also announced that in support of the album’s release, he will embark on his first solo tour of the United States and Canada. In 2019, he released his third solo album, “Why Me? Why Not,” followed by “C’mon You Know,” which was due out in May 2022. He married Patsy Kensit in 1997, and they had a son named Lennon. He and Lisa Moorish had a daughter, Molly, in 1998. In the year 2000, he was dating Nicole Appleton and they got married in 2008. Gene is their son.
