Abra was born in Pasig, Philippines, but not much is known about his background, education, or family life.

Abra launched his career by joining the Pinoy hip-hop group Lyrically Deranged Poets (L.D.P.) in 2009. That year, the group released their independent debut album, “The Project.” In 2010 and again in 2011, L.D.P. received the Best Urban Group award at the Urban Music Awards. In 2010, Abra joined the FlipTop Battle League, and when the rap battle leagues began, he was one of the first emcees to compete, thus making a name for himself. Abra’s lyrical style and rap antics earned him favor at every battle. In 2012, he released the single ‘Gayuma,’ whose video reached 26 million views on YouTube, propelling Abra to fame. In 2013, Abra and his independent label, Artifice Records, signed a distribution deal with Ivory Music & Video. By February 2014, he released his eponymous debut album. In 2018, Abra released his E.P. “Hendrix EP.” Abra has also made several television appearances. He is surely a talented rapper deserving of his success.
