Tyler Joseph

Background

Tyler Joseph was born on December 1, 1988. He was born in Columbus, Ohio, the eldest son of Kelly Joseph and Chris Joseph. He has three siblings: Zack, Jay, and Madison. Joseph was initially tutored by his mom, and his first encounter with music was when he was introduced to D.C. Talk, a Christian rap rock band. He graduated from Olentangy High School. He started playing basketball at a young age. In 2008, he was inspired by a songwriter’s performance at a High Street club. He began performing music with an old keyboard he received as a Christmas gift from his mom, honing his musical skills by mimicking radio tunes, writing songs, and singing.

Tyler Joseph had a relationship with Jenna Black, a high school friend’s sister-in-law, and married her in March 2015. They are the happy parents of two lovely children, Rosie Robert Joseph and Junie Belle Joseph.

In 2009, Joseph formed the band Twenty One Pilots with bassist Nick Thomas and drummer Chris Salih. The band’s self-titled first album “Twenty One Pilots” was released separately and made it on the U.S. Billboard 200 list with 115,000 copies sold. Salih and Thomas departed the band after their tour in Ohio, prompting Joseph to team up with Josh Dun, an American drummer who eventually became the group’s full-time drummer, resigning his job at Guitar Center. The duo’s independent album, “Regional at Best,” was met with limited success. The musical duet signed with the American record company Warner Music Group and released the debut album “Vessel,” which received excellent reviews, sold more than 569,000 copies, and charted on several international charts. Joseph was also a member of a gospel band and played several events.

The years that followed were extremely fruitful for the duo, as they delivered hit songs that made it to the top of various international charts. The album “Blurryface” received several accolades, including a triple-platinum rating from the Recording Industry Association of America (R.I.A.A.). They traveled all over the world, the music duo’s stardom and popularity soaring higher.
