Nicholas James Muscarella, best known by his stage name Nick James, was born in Greenville, Pennsylvania, on December 1st, 1982. James is the son of Vicki and Gregory Muscarella; his older brother is called Michael. James had a happy childhood and attended Reynolds Junior – Senior High School. After graduating high school, James enrolled at Penn State Behrend College to study management and marketing. It turned out that marketing and management weren’t James’ thing. So he decided to leave college and move to Los Angeles to pursue his dream: of becoming an actor.

James arrived in Hollywood with nothing but $200 and a pocket full of dreams and hopes. In Los Angeles, James took acting classes from some of the best tutors, including acting coach Vincent Chase. James worked at various pubs and as a model to support himself and pay for his acting studies. James’ first chance to become a professional actor came in 2006; he landed a role in the movie “Eating Out 2: Sloppy Seconds.” After that, James worked in two more films in 2008 and 2009, “Prom Night” and “Fire Up!.” The actor has made appearances in several series, including “The Client List,” “N.C.I.S.: New Orleans,” “Jane by Design,” “The Client List,” “Revenge,” and many more.

In 2016, James got his big breakthrough and the lead role in the crime drama series “The Haves and the Have Nots” and he maintained his role in the show until the end of the series in 2021. In May 2022, he married Tika Sumpter — who he met on the set of the show and they have a six-year old daughter
