Billy Idol

Background

Billy Idol was born William Michael Albert Broad on November 30, 1955, in Stanmore, Middlesex, England. His astrological sign is Sagittarius. He is the eldest child of Bill Broad and Joan Broad and has a younger sister named Jane. He attended Ravensbourne School for Boys before transferring to Worthing High School for Boys. Similarly, in 1975, he enrolled at Sussex University to study English. He departed after a year since he had no academic objectives.

Idol began his musical career in 1976 as a member of the punk rock band Siouxsie and the Banshees. Idol rose to prominence in the 1970s as the lead singer of Generation X, arising from the London punk rock movement. Eventually, he launched a solo career that brought him international acclaim; and he became a lead performer during the M.T.V.-driven “Second British Invasion” in the United States. Furthermore, the appellation “Billy Idol” came from a schoolteacher’s assessment of him as “idle.” He developed a “bad boy” persona when he went solo. This image was well-received by rock music listeners.

Idol is not married. He did, however, have a long-term romance with Perri Lister. They have a child named Willem Wolf Broad. Unfortunately, the couple had some problems and had to separate in 1989. Idol remains a good friend of Perri, and they still spend time with their child. In addition, this singer has another daughter, Bonnie Blue, from a previous relationship with Linda Mathi.
