Chrissy Teigen

Background

Chrissy Teigen, born on November 30, 1985, in Delta, Utah, is not just a pretty face. She is an accomplished T.V. personality, actress, food stylist, author, and businesswoman! Her mother, Vilailuck, is of Thai descent, and her father, Ron, is of American and Norwegian descent. Her family moved to Snohomish, Washington, after she was born. When Teigen was 15, her mother returned to Thailand, and she and her father moved to Huntington Beach in California. She signed her first modeling contract with the swimsuit company Billabong in her late teens. During this time, she lived in Miami, Florida, for half of the year for four years.

Teigen appeared as a briefcase model on the first season of “Deal Or No Deal” in 2005. In 2010, she got her big break modeling for the magazine “Swimsuit Illustrated.” The following year, she featured in the video game “Need For Speed: The Run.” In 2013, she was featured in a special called “Chrissy Teigen’s Hungry” on the Cooking Channel. That same year, she appeared in her then-fiance John Legend’s music video for his song ‘All Of Me.’ The following year, she again graced the “Swimsuit Illustrated” pages in its 50th-anniversary edition. In 2015, she starred in an episode of comedienne and actress Mindy Kaling’s sitcom, “The Mindy Project,” and began co-hosting M.T.V.’s musical competition series, “Lip Sync Battle.”

She worked as a food stylist on model Tyra Banks’s daytime talk show, “FABLife,” between 2015 and 2016. In early 2016, she published her first book, a best-selling cookbook entitled “Cravings: Recipes for All of the Food You Want to Eat.” Teigen released her second recipe book, “Cravings: Hungry for More,” in 2018. She then released a line of cookware in collaboration with the department store “Target” that same year. She was one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people in 2019. In 2020, she launched her cooking website called “Cravings by Chrissy Teigen.” The following year, she began to produce and star in her comedy show, “Chrissy’s Court.” Teigen got engaged to John Legend in December 2011 and married him in September 2013. They have two children together.
