Nyjah Huston

Background

Nyjah Imani Huston is a professional skateboarder, who was born on November 30, 1994. Huston was born in Davis, California. His zodiac sign is Sagittarius. He has four siblings. Adeyemi Huston, his father, raised them in a rigorous Rastafarian way of life. Houston’s mother Kelle Huston, educated them at home. Huston’s father was a skateboarder, and when Huston was five years old, he forced his boys to start skateboarding. Huston claims that his father was overbearing and insisted that Huston skate every day. He spent most of his waking hours skating when his parents bought an indoor skatepark. His endorsement arrangements with Element skateboards were cut short when his father abruptly chose to transfer the entire family to Puerto Rico. Huston’s mother eventually divorced his father and gained custody of him, allowing him to return to California and restart his skateboarding career. Huston no longer considers himself a Rastafarian.

Huston began his skating career at an early age when he was sponsored by Element Skateboards and went on to participate in several of their videos. He subsequently began competing in high-profile skateboarding competitions. When he won a gold medal in the 2013 X Games Street League competition, he cemented his reputation as one of the most exciting up-and-coming skateboarders. This also meant he earned more money in competitions than any other skateboarder in history. Huston has won seven gold medals at the various Summer X games as of 2020.

He created a charitable organization with his mother called Let It Flow and built the group’s first sanitation station in Ethiopia.
