Background

Reginae Carter is an American rapper, television personality, and social media influencer whose personality and talents have won her recognition and fans. She is a Sagittarius born on November 29, 1998, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Carter is the firstborn daughter of rapper Lil Wayne and Toya Johnson; she is of African-American descent. Her parents had her when they were only 16 and 15, respectively. Her parents separated in 2006, eight years after she was born. She has step-siblings from her father’s side. After high school, Carter enrolled in Clark Atlanta University but didn’t complete her education.

Carter was introduced to the limelight early. She made her debut television appearance in 2009 on “The Carter,” her father’s documentary. In the same year, she debuted her singing music career by joining the girl group OMG Girlz. The group was created by Tameka Cottle, rapper T.I.’s wife. By 2010, their first single, ‘Ain’t Nobody,’ dropped, after which Carter left the group. In 2013, she signed to her father’s record label, Young Money Records, and in 2014 Carter appeared in “My Super Sweet 16.” The video to her debut solo single, ‘Mind Goin Crazy,’ dropped in the same year. By 2017, Carter starred alongside others in the reality television series “Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta.” She appeared in 14 episodes till 2018. In 2019, she made her film debut as Lydia in “Pride & Prejudice: Atlanta.”

Besides music and television, Carter owns a clothing line, Reginae Carter Collection, which launched in 2013 and re-launched in 2015 as Shut Up. In March 2022, Carter launched her athletic wear line, IFITIN. She has also worked with countless clothing and hair brands. As someone in the spotlight, Carter’s personal life is public. She has been romantically involved with footballers Jaquez Sloan and Joshua Brown. But her most publicized relationship is with rapper YFN Lucci. However, they broke up in 2019. Carter is reportedly single and shares her success with her friends and family.
