Fatman Scoop

Background

Isaac Freeman III, well known for his stage moniker Fatman Scoop, was born in New York on August 6, 1971. Little is known about his family background, but we do know that he was previously married to Shanda and they have a son and a daughter.

He got his stage name from his Uncle Jack, who would call him ‘Fatman Scoop’ because of his love for ice cream. Fatman Scoop is best known for his song ‘Be Faithful,’ which reached the top of the charts in the U.K. and Ireland in October 2003 and the top 10 in Denmark and Australia. Throughout his music career, he has won one Grammy Award for Best Short Form Music Video and one Soul Train Music Award for Best R&B/Soul or Rap Dance Cut. Fatman Scoop is also a radio personality and hip-hop promoter in the U.S.

Fatman Scoop owns and hosts a romance podcast called “Full Throttle.” His podcast is a sex and relationship show that airs on the ONLOQ.com and MTV internet T.V. networks. He has interviewed a broad spectrum of celebrities on his podcast, including Jemele Hill, Plaxico Burress, Slim Thug, and Cedric the Entertainer. He also played himself on the T.V. series “The Boondocks.” However, since the show’s launch, Fatman Scoop and his wife’s relationship has deteriorated, and they have split. Fatman Scoop has also worked with musicians like Lil Jon, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston, Pitbull, and Skrillex, to name a few.

In July 2006, he sued the Sheriff of Craven County, North Carolina as a club promoter in New Bern, North Carolina, after a 2003 performance there was shut down by the sheriff due to a noise complaint. The lawsuit sought over $10,000 in lost income as well as punitive damages. Fatman Scoop joined “Celebrity Big Brother” as a contestant in August 2015. By day 20 of the reality show, however, he was the third housemate to be evicted.
