Golnesa Gharachedaghi

Background

The reality T.V. show “Shahs of Sunset” pushed Golnesa Gharachedaghi into the limelight as she joined the series in the first season and is still present in the current season, season nine. She began the show unemployed and financially dependent on her father, and she spent most of her time lunching with her friends during the day and socializing at night. Gharachedaghi kept up a fiery, combative personality, claiming to have been kicked out of several schools while growing up due to fighting. The show “Shahs of Sunset” follows a group of Persian Americans living in Beverly Hills as they try to balance their active social lives and developing careers with the demands of their families and traditions.

In 2022, Gharachedaghi revealed her struggles with fertility. Even though she had several unintentional pregnancies during a reckless time in her life, it was a different story when she wanted a baby. Her first I.V.F. attempt using a sperm donor was unsuccessful when it turned into ectopic pregnancy. Complications from this led to her doctor removing her fallopian tubes. Thankfully, the second I.V.F. went well and Gharachedaghi gave birth to a baby boy in 2020. She shared her journey to encourage other women going through the same situation. She said that she feels she’s supposed to be a voice for certain people who feel like infertility was their entire life and they cannot move past it.

Gharachedaghi has come a long way from taking hard drugs such as cocaine and cannabis which started at the age of 11 with her sister Leila. Viewers of “Shahs of Sunset” have seen her grow from a rebellious young woman to an impressive businesswoman who is also starting a family on her terms.
