When you think of Sonja Morgan, do you think of cameras flashing, paparazzi influx, and a queen walking on a red carpet in her embellished gown with a beautiful smile? Because that’s the exact image that flashes in our minds. Morgan has become a household name in America’s reality T.V. genre. She was born on November 25, 1963, in Albany, New York. Her ethnicity is a mix of German, English, and Irish. Not much is known about her parents and siblings except that she had three siblings, and that they were raised by a single mother. She was enrolled at the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology (F.I.T.) and pursued her bachelor’s degree in marketing.

Morgan became a known personality long before her television appearances. She started working as a fashion model in Milan and Paris while pursuing her bachelor’s degree. She also worked as a fashion critic for “Star Magazine.” Her expert fashion knowledge gained her clients from all over the world. She gained immense fame for her on-screen presence in “The Real Housewives of New York City” (R.H.O.N.Y.C.). Bravo approached her to appear in the reality T.V. show and after declining the offer for two seasons, she signed on to become a cast member during the third season in 2010. Her personality has made her a fan favorite, and she has remained a regular cast member to date. She has had the mind — and skills — of a businesswoman and has had several entrepreneurial endeavors. Morgan launched her fashion brand Sonja Morgan New York during the New York Fall Fashion Week in 2015. She also has her own branded shoe line, an accessories brand, and a scented essential oils line. Morgan also participated in her debut off-Broadway play in 2017.

When it comes to matters of the heart, Morgan has remained a private person, even though being under constant scrutiny by the media did not help her. She was betrothed for six years to Italian Count Pierfrancesco, but the engagement had to be called off. She was then involved with a few other influential and popular names, such as Prince Albert of Monaco and John McEnroe — the tennis star. Her heart finally said yes to the banker John Adams Morgan, with whom she remained married for nearly 10 years. She has engaged in philanthropic work for a long time now and her genuine effort has earned her awards too. She lends a helping hand to various charities and is an open advocate of animals, children, arts, and L.G.B.T.Q. rights.
