Diego Tinoco

Background

Tinoco was born in 1997 in Anaheim, California. His father, Victor Hugo Tinoco Calvillo, is a Mexican immigrant and his mother is Colombian. Tinoco began acting and modeling at a very young age. After graduating, he enrolled at 321 Acting Studios to learn more about acting and improve his craft. Tinoco seems close to his family based on how often he posts them on social media. He was raised in Anaheim alongside his older brother, Luigi. Tinoco is bilingual — he speaks Spanish and English.

The 2015 short film “Drizzle of Hope” served as Tinoco’s debut film. He also made a guest appearance on MTV’s “Teen Wolf” the following year. His breakout role, however, was Netflix’s “On My Block.” Tinoco was cast to play the role of Cesar Diaz, one of the show’s central characters. “On My Block,” based in the rough inner-city of a Los Angeles neighborhood called Freeridge, centered around four teenagers and their experience with high school. The show ran from 2018 to 2021. In 2021, Tinoco starred in “R#J,” a modern retelling of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet,” wherein he played the role of Tybalt. The actor is currently working on his two upcoming projects, “Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac” and “Mourning War.”

Tinoco is active on several social media platforms, including Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and TikTok. He made his Instagram account back in 2012. According to his social media, he is a trained skateboarder and often posts skateboarding videos on his Instagram account.
