Kevin Chamberlin

Background

Chamberlin was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and grew up in Moorestown, New Jersey. He began acting when he was young and played the role of Huck Finn in his elementary school’s production of “Tom Sawyer.” After graduating high school, he enrolled at Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of Arts and graduated with a B.F.A. in acting. Immediately after that, Chamberlin began acting on Broadway.

The actor has an extensive list of acting credits. He has been nominated for three Tony Awards and three Drama Desk Awards for his roles in Broadway musicals. He has played Horton in “Seussical,” Uncle Fester in “The Addams Family,” and Charlie in “Dirty Blonde.” His other Broadway credits include “My Favorite Year,” “Triumph of Love,” “Abe Lincoln in Illinois,” “Chicago,” “The Ritz,” and “Wicked.” His film credits include “Trick,” the role of an N.Y.P.D. police officer in “Die Hard with a Vengeance,” “Irving,” “The Emoji Movie,” “Trouble,” and “The Prom.” His television career includes roles like Bertram Winkle on Disney Channel’s “Jessie” between 2011 and 2015. Chamberlin has also had minor roles in many other shows like “Modern Family,” “A Series of Unfortunate Events,” “C.S.I: N.Y.,” “ Ghostwriter,” “ Ed,” “Kingpin,” “Jake In Progress,” and “Frasier.”

In 2020, Chamberlin, alongside other TikTok users, participated in creating a musical version of Disney-Pixar’s “Ratatouille” as an internet meme. A few months later, he was cast as Chef Gustaeu in a benefit concert presentation of the musical. The concert was streamed once on January 1, 2021.
