He was born in Houston, Texas and his Zodiac sign is Scorpio. Strahan is the last born of a family of six and is lucky to have been born into a family of athletes. His mother, Louise Strahan, is a basketball coach, while his father, Gene Willie Straham, is a former Army Major and a boxer. He is also the nephew of Art Strahan, a retired N.F.L. player. Strahan began playing football in his senior year at Westbury High School. He went on to play college football at Texas Southern University and was drafted by the New York Giants in the second round of the 1993 N.F.L. Draft.
Strahan quickly became a star defensive end, winning the 2001 N.F.C. Championship and helping the Giants defeat the New England Patriots in “Super Bowl XLII.” He retired from the N.F.L. after the 2007 season, during which he set a then-record for sacks in a season. Following this, Strahan became a media personality. He hosted the short-lived Fox game show “The $100,000 Pyramid” in 2016. He has also appeared as a guest host on “Live! with Kelly and Michael” and as a panelist on “Good Morning America.” In 2017, he became a permanent co-host of “Good Morning America.” In 2014, Straham was inducted into The Pro Football Hall of Fame, and Super Bowl XLVIII was dedicated to him. His number 92 was retired in 2021 by the Giants in their game against Philadephia eagles.
Strahan was previously married to Wanda Hutchins (1992 to 1996), and together they have a daughter and son. In 1999, he then married Jean Muggli, and they have twin daughters. The two had an acrimonious divorce in 2006 and Strahan later became engaged to Nicole Mitchell, which ended in 2014.
