Background

Logan Austin Thirtyacre was born on November 17, 1994, in Pensacola, Florida. Born to Kelly Thirtyacre and Jennifer Grant, he is the younger brother of Lance Thirtyacre, another prominent YouTuber and partner of ‘SuperMarioLogan’ (S.M.L.). Thirtyacre is of Irish descent. He officially began his YouTube career on December 8, 2007, uploading a video of himself attempting to recreate a Super Mario commercial using a toy. The short clip was poorly made and didn’t attract many views, but the 13-year-old Thirtyacre kept at it over the following years. Between 2008 and 2013, he worked hard to improve his writing, acting, and production of skits. In 2013, he hit the 100,000 subscriber mark.

The year 2016 marked a turn for the worst in Thirtyacre’s career. While his brand of comedy had always been mature and politically incorrect, the introduction of his new S.M.L. character Jeffy brought negative attention to his content. In a 2017’s S.M.L. skit, the character Jeffy attempted suicide because his father wouldn’t buy him a video game. A mother found her seven-year-old son reenacting the skit, which led to a deluge of media attention, placing Thirtyacre and his YouTube channel under scrutiny. The entire S.M.L. channel got blacklisted, marking the start of a year-long battle for the content creator as his videos got arbitrarily age-restricted, demonetized, and deleted. Attempts to open new channels and upload new videos met with the same results. Widespread media coverage of Thirtyacre’s content as ‘problematic’ further compounded his problems.

In 2019, Thirtyacre trended for all the wrong reasons after getting arrested by officers from the Escambia County Sheriff’s Department. He was the victim of ‘swatting,’ a highly controversial prank where anonymous people call 911 to mobilize police raids on the homes of unsuspecting social media influencers such as gamers and live streamers. In 2021, gaming company Nintendo sent S.M.L. a cease and desist letter forbidding them from using their characters in his YouTube videos. Never one to quit, Thirtyacre deleted all content featuring Nintendo characters and kept his channel alive using original content. He currently has 3.5 million subscribers on his S.M.L. channel and continues to pull in millions of views within days without any references to Nintendo characters. Thirtyacre was also accused of cheating on his longtime girlfriend Chilly Jimenez, further denting his public image. After the couple broke up, a fellow S.M.L. voice actor revealed that Chilly had also cheated on Thirtyacre for two years. They reconciled in 2021 but again broke up in 2022. Thirtyacre is single today and not dating anyone.
