Background

Bain was born on November 14, 1997, in England; he was also raised there. He created a YouTube channel on March 28, 2012, at the age of 14. Bain then began posting montages and ‘easter egg’ videos of the games “Star Wars: Battlefront” and “Battlefields” on his YouTube channel.

The use of the term ‘easter egg’ to describe secret, or relatively unknown, features of a video game originates from the 1980s. In 1980, the video game “Adventure” for the Atari 2600 game console was programmed by employee Warren Robinett. This was because, at the time, Atari did not include programmers’ names in the game credits to prevent competitors from poaching its developers, along with disallowing these developers from being able to bargain with the new owners of Atari, Warner Communications. Robinett disagreed with this blatant lack of due credit and secretly programmed the message “Created by warren Robbinett” into the game, only to appear when a player moved their avatar over a specific pixel during a particular part of the game, allowing them to enter a “forbidden” part of the map, leading to the location of the message.

Throughout Bain’s career on social media, he consistently posted videos and streamed his gameplay of the “Star Wars” games. During his career, he amassed over 30,000 subscribers before deactivating his YouTube channel. Not much is known about him after the deactivation. He is currently 24 years old.
