Matt Bennett

Background

Matt Bennett was born and raised in Massapequa Park, New York. He has appeared in several commercials since he was a child. Bennett started his official acting career at age 18, playing Jamie in the made-for-T.V. movie “Totally for Teens” in 2009. He also played the character Greg the Intern in the pilot episode of the comedy series called “Michael & Michael Have Issues” on Comedy Central.

The actor starred in “The Virginity Hit,” released in the fall of 2010. It was a documentary-style comedy, and Bennett claimed in an interview that the film’s directors gave the actors cameras during their spare time. This was done so they would joke, talk among themselves and film everything. “The Virginity Hit” was conceived and produced by the creators of “Funny or Die,” Will Ferrell and Adam McKay. In an interview with M.T.V. News, Bennett said the film’s reception was very positive. After that, the actor played Robbie Shapiro in Nickelodeon’s teen comedy “Victorious.” For this work, he was nominated for a 2011 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award in the U.K. for ‘Funniest Person in Nick U.K.’

In the spring of 2013, it was announced that the actor would make a web series for the YouTube channel “Nerdist.” In the series called “Nerdy Jobs,” the actor goes behind the scenes of many works considered “nerd” to show how they are interesting. In the summer of 2014, Bennett was featured in the viral YouTube video “The Slap” as one of the contestants. He also received an invitation to be the love interest of Ariana Grande’s character in the music video for “One Last Time.”
