Omarion

Background

Omarion was born to Trent Grandberry and Leslie Burrell on November 12, 1984, in Inglewood, California as the first of seven children. His younger brother O’Ryan, a musician and songwriter, is notable among his siblings. The Grandberrys are of African-American descent. Omarion had always been interested in school theatrical plays since he was a child. At the age of five, he began appearing in advertisements for various items such as McDonald’s and Kellogg’s Corn Pops. He was a football team member throughout high school and was well-known for his eccentric dance techniques. His major break occurred in 1999, when a producer named Chris Stokes founded the boy band B2K, which consisted of boys aged 14 to 16, with Omarion as the lead singer.

From 2001 to 2004, B2K made three successful albums. Unfortunately, the B2K band disbanded in 2004, which surprised everyone, but it opened the door for Omarion to pursue a solo career. His 2005 solo album, “O,” climbed to number one on the Billboard 200. In 2006, he released his second album, “21,” which featured the smash single ‘Ice Box.’ He made a successful shift to the big screen in the mid-2000s, appearing in several films. In terms of television, he has appeared in sitcoms such as “The Bernie Mac Show” (2004–2005), “One on One” (2004–2006), and “Cuts” (2005-2006). He also appeared on a couple of other television shows.

Omarion was romantically involved with Apryl Jones. The couple has two children, a boy and a girl named Megaa Omari and A’mei Kazuko, respectively. In 2016, the couple decided to divorce and separate.
