Eve was born to Jerry Jeffers, a chemical plant supervisor, and Julie Wilcher, a publishing company supervisor. When she turned 13, she and her family moved to the neighborhood of Germantown. Cooper attended Martin Luther King High School in Philadelphia, where she graduated. After leaving school, Cooper became a stripper until rapper Mase convinced her to pursue a different career. She then formed the girl group Dope Girl Posse or EDGP. Cooper launched a solo career as “Eve of Destruction” after the group disbanded.

In 1999, Cooper released her first album, “Let There Be Eve…Ruff Ryders’ First Lady,” which sold over 213,000 copies in the first week and was later certified Double Platinum. She followed up with three subsequent albums, “Scorpion,” “Eve-Olution,” and “Lip Lock.” To date, one of her biggest singles was a collaboration with Gwen Stefani called ‘Let Me Blow Ya Mind,’ which had significant chart success.
