Finch was born in Philadelphia and was brought up in the Germantown neighborhood. When Khia was 11 years old, she moved to Tampa, Florida, where she attended Dowdell Middle School, Hillsborough High School, and then another school after being expelled from Hillsborough. In 1991, she gave birth to her first child, a daughter named Khia. In 1992, she moved to Honolulu, Hawaii, where her daughter’s father lived. There, she had her second child, Rashawn. She lost her mother, Carol Belinda Chambers, a data entry specialist, in 2001.

In 2002, she began her career by releasing her debut album “Thug Misses,” which received much praise and featured her hit song ‘My Neck, My Back (Lick It).’ Between 2006 to 2016, she released five more albums, namely “Gangstress,” “Nasti Muzik,” “MotorMouf aka Khia Shamone,” “Love Locs,” and “QueenDomCum.” She also released a greatest hits album, “TwerkAnomics,” in 2018 and released her single ‘Kash Only.’

Besides making music, Khia has also been a television presenter on “The Queen’s Court” alongside her friend, T.S. Madison.
