On November 7, 1997, Xu Minghao was born in Anshan, Liaoning, China. He studied contemporary music at Beijing Contemporary Music Academy. He had an appearance on the Chinese variety show “C.C.T.V. Variety Show” in 2008. He later made an appearance on the Chinese show “Day Day Up.” He competed in the sixth Shanghai World Dance Competition, which took place from April 27 to April 30, 2012. He finished in the top eight.
In late 2014, he made his first appearance on “SEVENTEEN TV.” On May 29, 2015, Minghao made his debut as a member of the South Korean boy band SEVENTEEN with their first extended play “17 Carat.” In 2017, he won a television role in “Real Class – Elementary School.” Pledis Entertainment announced on December 12, 2017 that he would be postponing his promotional efforts owing to a waist injury. He didn’t return to promotions until the release of SEVENTEEN’s special album “Director’s Cut.”
Minghao and bandmate Wen Junhui appeared on the Chinese reality television show “Chao Yin Zhan Ji” (“Chaoyin War Chronicles”)in 2018. In the first season of the Chinese survival show “Youth With You,” he was one of two dance trainers alongside Jolin Tsai. On June 9, 2019, Minghao released his first solo single, ‘Dreams Come True.’ He announced the release of his second single, ‘Falling Down,’ on May 4, 2020 to be released on May 8, 2020. He then announced the release of his third single, ‘Side by Side,’ on April 8, 2021. It was released in both Chinese and Korean on April 13, 2021. He and bandmate Wen Junhui released a single named ‘Mom’s Missed Call’ on May 4, 2021. All earnings were donated to abandoned children in China. The song is part of the Dandelion Philanthropy Music Project, which raises money for the Chinese Children’s Charity Association.
