Background

Alexa Chung has become a household name in the fashion industry. Her lovely and unique personality has captured the hearts of millions of people across the globe. Though Chung has had ups and downs in her early life, she remains an inspiring role model to all her followers.

Born on November 5, 1983, in Winchester, Hampshire, England, Chung is the daughter of Gillian and Phillip Chung. Her modeling career began at 16 when she performed at the comedy tent during the Reading Festival. There, she was spotted, and opportunities never ceased popping up after that. She did modeling for many teen magazines, such as “CosmoGIRL!” and “Elle Girl,” and has worked for outstanding companies like Sony Ericsson, Fanta, Urban Outfitters, Sunsilk, and Tampax. She has also worked in T.V., with hosting being her main area of expertise. Chung has been co-host of several shows, including “Popworld,” “It’s On with Alexa Chung,” and, most recently, Netflix’s “Next In Fashion.”

Although modeling is not her main gig as of right now, Chung never really left. She was announced as the face of Australian fashion label Antipodium’s S.S. 2008 collection, and the face of the British High Street giant New Look in 2009. That same year, Chung joined the London-based modeling agency Select Model Management. As her career grew, she became the face of D.K.N.Y. Jeans after joining the NEXT Model Management agency. Aside from modeling, Chung is also a fantastic writer, with a published monthly column for the British magazine “Company” from October 2007 to June 2008. Later, she wrote a weekly column for “The Independent,” the widely known British newspaper, from November 2008 to June 2009.
