Background

Mia Gypsy Mello da Silva Goth, widely known as Mia Goth, was born on October 25, 1993, in Southwark, London, England. When she was young, she moved to Canada, her father’s native country. She lived on her father’s farm. Several years later, Goth relocated to Brazil with her mother, where they lived with her maternal grandparents. They are actress Maria Gladys and American-born artist Lee Jaffe. When Goth was 12, she and her mother settled in London, where she enrolled in secondary school.

Goth discovered her talent in acting when she was young. At 14, she had already participated in several school plays. Mia was finally discovered by a fashion photographer called Gemma Booth at the “Underage Festival” in London. Booth signed her to Storm Model Management and this opened up a path to appear in advertisements for “Vogue” and Miu Miu. These gigs gave her the recognition she needed to advance her career. Goth began auditioning for films at the age of 16. In 2013, she won her first role in Lars von Trier’s “Nymphomaniac.” Goth went ahead to play the role of Sophie Campbell in an episode of the crime drama series called “The Tunnel.”

In 2014, Goth appeared in Future’s music video titled ‘Haunted Love’ and later appeared in a short film called “Magpie.” In 2015, she was cast to play in a post-apocalyptic thriller film titled “The Survivalist” followed by the disaster adventure-thriller film called “Everest.” In 2016, Goth appeared as a cast member in a horror film titled “A Cure for Wellness” directed by Gore Verbinski. From 2017 to 2019, Goth worked on two more projects; the romantic comedy film “Emma” and an action drama film titled “Mayday.”
