Meghan McCain is an American television personality, columnist, journalist, and author born in Phoenix, Arizona, and is the daughter of Senator John McCain and Cindy McCain. She is the eldest of four children. McCain completed her schooling at the Phoenix Country Day School and Xavier College Preparatory, an all-girl private Catholic high school. In 2007, she earned her bachelor’s degree in art history from Columbia University.

Also in 2007, McCain started her blog “McCain Blogette,” for which she received wide recognition. The blog was about her life while on the trail of her father’s 2008 presidential campaign. In 2013, her road-based talk show “Raising McCain” was viewable on the start-up Pivot digital cable and satellite television channel. It was, however, canceled in early 2014. She was also a co-host on the show “TakePart Live,” which ran from May until December 2014. McCain initially planned to become a music journalist and interned at “Newsweek” and “Saturday Night Live” before changing course and working as an analyst for ABC News, Fox News, and MSNBC.

In 2017, she joined the daytime talk show “The View” where she co-hosted until 2021 and received four Daytime Emmy award nominations for her efforts. In her other ventures, McCain became a columnist for the “Daily Mail” newspaper after her three-year stint at “The View.” She also penned four books, “My Dad, John McCain” in 2008, “Dirty Sexy Politics” in 2010, “America, You Sexy Bitch: A Love Letter to Freedom” alongside Michael Ian Black in 2012, and “Bad Republican” in 2022.
