Background

Ashley Nicole “Sassy” Bermudez is a reality star who inspires the young
African-American L.G.B.T. community. She was born on October 18, 1990, in Harlem, New York.

Sassy was one of the members of V.H.1’s documentary series, “Black Ink Crew,” the first tattoo-based reality show that focuses on ‘Harlem’s Black Ink,’ a black-owned tattoo parlor. The show debuted on January 7, 2013, and she made the headlines as one of the openly gay members on the show. Sassy turned into an icon for young African-American L.G.B.T. persons. She left Black Ink crew after shooting season four. Sassy has moved on to work as a manager with Puma, a fellow cast member. Her charisma helped her land many gigs and opportunities after leaving Black Ink Crew. She did some modeling work for L.J.E. Modeling Agency and has worked for magazines like “Urban Ink Magazine,” “Heed Magazine,” and “Ellements Magazine.” In 2013, Sassy did an interview with D.J. Vlad speaking about being a lesbian and getting girls. Sassy left the show in season four because of the cheating allegations leveled against her by the Duchess, who happened to be Caesar’s at the time. Sassy returned to “Black Ink Crew” and had her homecoming in episode 15 of season 9 on March 21, 2022.
