Frank Fritz

Background

Frank Fritz is an American reality TV star, antique collector, and actor, best known for being a star of the History Channel’s “American Pickers.” Born October 11, 1965, Fritz was born in Davenport, Iowa, to Susan and Bill Fritz. In an interview with Sidewalks Entertainment, Fritz remarked that his love for antiques didn’t suddenly develop but can be traced back to his days as a young one. During his childhood, he loved collecting items such as beer cans, razor blades, stamps, and coins.

As he progressed in age, so did his enjoyment of antique collecting. As time went on, he moved on to bigger ticket items like motorcycles, dirt bikes, and other memorabilia. He graduated from Bettendorf High School and attended Sudlow Intermediate School but did not pursue a college career. For many years, he worked as a fire and safety inspector before moving on to pursue his love for antiques. Fritz discovered that he could have a full-time job out of antique collecting when he made a $450 profit from an item he purchased for only $15. Along with his business partner, Mike Wolfe, Fritz then opened an antique shop called “Antique Archeology” in Le Claire, Iowa. Now the store has another branch in Nashville, Tennessee.

However, the partners received their big break in 2010 when they became co-hosts of the History Channel show called “American Pickers.” The reality show follows the men as they travel around the country to find antique items to keep in their personal collections or to resell to customers. After 21 successful seasons, Fritz took a leave of absence from the show and was eventually let go. During his time on the show, fans learned to love his fun-loving nature and antics.
