Tanya Tucker

Background

Tanya Denise Tucker is an American country music singer and songwriter whose talents have earned her fame and success. She’s a Libra, born on October 10, 1958, in Seminole, Texas. She’s the youngest child of Jesse and Juanita Tucker. She was raised in Wilcox, Arizona, for the better part of her childhood. The only radio station Tucker listened to played country music, and this stirred her interest in the genre. At age eight, she wanted to be a country music singer.

In May 1972, Tucker released her first single, ‘Delta Dawn.’ The single was a hit and peaked at number six on the country music chart. In 1975, Tucker signed with M.C.A. Records and released one hit single after another. In 1978, Tucker dropped her ninth studio album, “TNT.” The singer drastically changed her image that year and the album went gold in 1979. By 1986, Tucker signed a record deal with Capitol Records. She dropped the “Girls Like Me” album that year, and in 1994, she performed at the Super Bowl XXVII halftime show. In 2002, she founded Tuckertime Records, and in 2009, she released her 24th studio album, “My Turn.” Tucker is a fantastic singer and songwriter. In January 2020, she won two Grammys for her singles ‘Bring My Flowers Now’ and ‘While I’m Livin’.’

Tucker keeps a private life as a talented musician with a lot to offer. She has been involved with several entertainers like Glen Campbell and Don Johnson. She has three children — two from her relationship with Ben Reed and one from her relationship with Jerry Laseter. Tucker and Laseter got engaged, but she canceled the wedding. The singer is currently in a relationship with Craig Dillingham.
