Marjorie Harvey

Background

Marjorie Elaine Ridge-Woods was born on October 10, 1964. She is the daughter of Doris Bridges but nothing is known about her father. She graduated from high school and began her studies at the University of Memphis but unfortunately, she had to drop out and couldn’t finish her degree due to her low academic performance.

Her low grades at school were a result of her passion for fashion and she dreamed of pursuing a career in the industry. When she left university she knew that it was time to make those dreams come true. She created her clothing line, which gained her a lot of attention, thanks to the beautiful designs.

As she achieved success, she shared her life journey with Jim Thompson, whom she had her first two children, Morgan and Jason, with. However, she divorced Thompson after it was revealed that he was involved in illegal activities. Her second marriage was to Darnell Woods and the pair had a daughter named Lori. However, she also filed for divorce in 2001 after discovering that he, too, was involved in illegal affairs.

She finally married a good, honest man in 2007 — presenter and comedian Steve Harvey. Harvey first met Steve at a comedy show in 1990. During the show, Steve couldn’t take his eyes off her and then told the audience that he did not know who she was but he was going to marry her one day. For various reasons, the relationship didn’t work out at the time but in 2007, they met again and began a relationship that ended in a happy life together. In 2010, the pair started The Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation, which provides youth outreach services in a bid to build successful future leaders.

In 2023, divorce rumors spread amid the allegations that Harvey cheated on Steve. He, however, believed in her loyalty and faithfulness. He stood by her side, saying she’s the best thing to ever happen to him.
