Steven Haworth Miller was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on October 5, 1943. Both his parents were Jazz aficionados and had him learn music from an early age. His mother was a Jazz singer, and his father was a doctor and self-taught sound engineer, who previously worked with Les Paul.

Miller eventually moved to Chicago and to the city’s blues scene in the mid-1960s to pursue a music career. He formed the Steve Miller Band in 1966. The band played with several established musicians, notably Chuck Berry, and released several albums, which became commercial hits, with their first being “Children of the Future,” released in 1966.

Throughout the 1980s, Steve Miller and his band released many albums to wide success, and later settled down, releasing singles and records occasionally.
