Following his mother’s death when he was 16 years old, Mac was raised by his grandparents. Mac got into comedy after performing for his church’s congregation at age eight. He made his comedic debut at The Cotton Club in Chicago in 1977. Following a breakthrough role in the movie “Friday” in 1995, Mac finally found success as an actor.
