Dreka Gates is a well-known figure on social media, particularly among fans of rap. The internet sensation was born on August 31, 1986, in the town of Baton Rouge in the state of Louisiana. She is very close with her mother, Sharon Haynes, but has not spoken publicly about her father’s identity or her relationship with him. She grew up with one sibling, a brother named David. She is of African-American descent. Gates attended a private primary school in her hometown. She decided to enroll herself in a high school in Los Angeles in California and consequently traveled across the country to complete her school education.

In 2002, she started dating singer and rapper, Kevin Gates. In 2010, she established a record production label called the Bread Winners’ Association in conjunction with Gates. The pair got married in 2015 and had a grand, luxurious wedding ceremony after 12 years of dating. She has had two children with Gates: a daughter named Islah Koren and a son named Khaza Kamil. After having had a bad medical malpractice experience in hospital years before the birth of her children, she decided to give birth at home with the assistance of a midwife.

Despite being a social media sensation, Gates was hesitant to join social media because of how critical fans and users can be. However, her husband’s public relations representative created social media accounts for her at the end of 2015 and encouraged her to use them. She now updates all her accounts regularly with particular attention to her vlogs. She also regularly stars in many of her husband’s music videos. The pair is planning on opening a restaurant in California.
