Born Newton Brandburn Pittman on August 29, 1976, in Queens, New York, his mother is Vicky Byers, an education professional. He was raised in New York and has one brother. His zodiac sign is Virgo. Pittman initially began his career in music. His first gig as a musician was in 2001 when he performed with his group in New York. Then, in 2004, he made his voice acting debut with Funimation, the global entertainment company, when he secured a guest role on the Japanese street racing manga series “Initial D.” In subsequent years, he went on to provide his voice to several English dubs for Japanese anime series, including “Hero Tales” in 2007 and “Ga-Rei: Zero” in 2008. He lived in New York for eight years before moving to Dallas Fort Worth, Texas. In 2009, he landed his first main role in an anime series when he voiced Reiji “Zwei” Azuma in “Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom.” Later that year, he joined the Undermain Theater as a Company Member and performed in several plays, beginning with “The Black Monk,” receiving much praise for his portrayal.

It was also in 2009 that he landed the role of Gray Fullbuster in the English version of the show “Fairy Tale,” which propelled him to international fame. The following year, in 2010, he landed a live-action role in the television series “The Good Guys.” In 2015, he landed another main role as the voice of Ryu Yamada in the English dub of the series “Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches.” In 2017, he obtained a license in nursing to become a registered nurse. He then began to practice as a full-time intrathoracic cancer nurse while also continuing his voiceover and acting career. That same year, he also provided the voice for Gray Fullbuster in the second movie of the “Fairy Tale” series — “Fairy Tale: Dragon Cry.” In 2018, he voiced the character Twice in the series “My Hero Academia,” based on another popular superhero manga series. In 2022, he made his first visit to the Dallas Comic Show.
