Background

Dylan O’Brien was born in New York, U.S.A. His family moved to New Jersey after his birth. O’Brien is of Irish, Italian, English, and Spanish ancestry. His mom, Lisa (née Rhodes), was an actress and was in charge of an acting school. His dad, Patrick O’Brien, was a camera operator. As you can imagine, this had a strong influence on his decision to become an actor. In his younger years, O’Brien wanted to be a sports broadcaster. He was even enrolled in Syracuse University when he changed his direction and decided to pursue an acting career. At 14, O’Brien started producing, directing, and starring in a comedy film which he uploaded to his YouTube channel. This caught the eye of a local producer and director who offered to work on a web series with him.

O’Brien got his big break when he landed the role of Stiles Stilinski in M.T.V.’s “Teen Wolf” in 2011. The actor was part of the series for six seasons. O’Brien’s gifted acting skills did not take long to open the path to landing big roles. He appeared in series such as “New Girl,” “Weird Cities,” and “Amazing Stories,” and was in many successful movies like “The Internship” and “American Assassin.” In 2013, O’Brien landed another major role in the film “The Maze Runner.” He was part of the film trilogy, portraying the lead role again in “Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials” (2015) and “Maze Runner: The Death Cure” (2018). O’Brien’s career just keeps rising. In 2021, he was cast in three movies; “The Outfit,” “Not Okay,” and “The Vanishings at Caddo Lake.” In November 2021, O’Brien starred in Taylor Swift’s short film “All Too Well” alongside Sadie Sink.

O’Brien won several awards for his performances. He was honored with a Young Hollywood Awards, seven Teen Choice Awards, and three M.T.V. Movie Awards, and that’s just to name a few. O’Brien’s career is at a high point at the moment and we can expect great things from him in the future.
