Background

Hollywood actor, screenwriter, and producer Ben Affleck is best known for starring in notable movies, such as “Good Will Hunting,” “Argo,” and “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.” Affleck met his long-lasting friend Damon when he was seven years old. The two grew up together and attended the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, where they became ‘drama geeks’ and started acting together. In the late 1990s, Affleck and Damon became roommates in Los Angeles and started co-writing “Good Will Hunting,” which later became Affleck’s big career break. The movie premiered on March 6, 1998, and starred Damon, Affleck, and the late Robin Williams. In March 1998, Damon and Affleck won an Oscar for ‘Best Original Screenplay’ for “Good Will Hunting.”

During the filming of “Pearl Harbor,” Affleck met Garner, who later became his wife and mother to his three children. The couple made their first public appearance in 2004, got engaged in 2005, and exchanged vows during a private ceremony on June 29, 2005. Garner later gave birth to three of his children, Violet Affleck (2005), Seraphina Rose Affleck (2009), and Samuel Garner Affleck (2012). In 2010 Affleck established the Eastern Congo Initiative (E.C.I.), which focuses all its efforts on investing in the lives of people in the eastern Congo and also working with them for a better future.

In 2016, Affleck became Batman and appeared in several movies, including “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” “Suicide Squad,” and “Justice League.” After Affleck and Garner were separated for a few years, the two officially filed for divorce in 2017. Affleck and Damon reunited on the big screen in July 2019 for “The Last Duel.” After rumors started that Affleck and Jennifer Lopez had rekindled their relationship after many years, Lopez made it Instagram official in 2021. The couple got married in 2022.
