The youngest of Charles Hamar Delevingne and Pandora Anne Delevingne’s three daughters, Cara Jocelyn Delevingne was born on August 12, 1992, in Hammersmith, London, United Kingdom. Her parents come from well-known upper-class families; her ancestors include Majors and Lord Mayors of London, Viscounts (Greenwood), and Baronets (Hulton, Faudel-Phillips). Delevingne’s godfather is Nicholas Coleridge, president of Condé Nast International. Her godmother is an English actress, author, and journalist Joan Collins. Her older sisters are Poppy and Chloe Delevingne, the latter of whom is a model in England. She was raised in one of London’s most wealthy neighborhoods, Belgravia. Delevingne attended Francis Holland School for Girls in downtown London until she was 16 before transferring to Bedales School in 2008 to study theater and music. However, she left it after a year to enter the world of modeling like her sister Poppy. She joined Storm Model Management in 2009 after being discovered by Sarah Doukas, the agency’s founder. Before her career took off, she worked for a year in the industry before landing a compensated job and going through two seasons of casting or visual interviews.
