Joseph James Rogan, famously known as Joe Rogan, was born in Newark, New Jersey, to his mother whose name remains unmentioned, and his father, Joseph. His father is a former police officer and his parents got divorced when he was five. He attended Newton South High School, from which he graduated, and later attended the University of Massachusetts Boston only to drop out midway through his studies.

Rogan’s first stand-up routine was in 1988, at a Stitches comedy club during an open mic night. Rogan has always known what he wanted and to secure himself financially, he took on several other jobs apart from stand-up comedy. These jobs included teaching martial arts since he has always had a passion for the sport, doing construction work, and delivering newspapers, to name a few. In 1994 he made his first national T.V. appearance in “Half-Hour Comedy Hour,” before later securing his first major acting role in “Hardball,” a 1994 Fox sitcom, where he played Frank Valente. Rogan worked for Ultimate Fighting Championship (U.F.C.) as a backstage and post-fight interviewer before eventually being offered the position of color commentator. He’s been involved with various movie films and comedy shows and won numerous awards, including the M.M.A. Award for Personality of the Year. Not to mention, he is the co-founder of Onnit, a company dealing with supplements and fitness, and he also has his own podcasts.

He did various martial arts, including karate at 14 years and later also taekwondo, for which he won the U.S. Open Championship taekwondo tournament as a lightweight. Rogan tied the knot with Jessica Ditzel in 2009. They have two biological children and one who is Rogan’s stepchild. The family also moved into a $14 million home in 2020.
